How To Be Productive In 2018

Guess what?

You don’t need a New Year’s Resolution, a new Monday, or a new week to start over.

You need a plan.

A system that works.

People often confuse being really busy with being productive. But being busy doesn’t always mean you’re actually doing your work.

Being productive means doing more in less time. You’d be surprised to see how much productive people really do in a day.

To really get the most out of your day, here are a few tips to help you be productive in 2018.

Agenda-it. Agenda’s really help you see the big picture. Start by defining what you want to get out of your day. In fact, the key to having a productive day/week/month is having a clear purpose. By writing everything down, you’ll have a clearer vision and you’ll more likely want to check those “to-do’s” right away. If your agenda is really organized, you’ll be able to evaluate the importance of each task, note which ones took longer than expected and evaluate which ones can be done in under 10 minutes.

Just say “no”. To be more productive you have to think about YOU and the tasks that are most important to you. Think about the 80%-20% rule. According to the Pareto Principle, 20% of the effort produces 80% of the results; however, 20% of the results consumes 80% of the effort. Which means, that instead of working harder we should focus on our efforts that produce the end result. So stop saying “yes” to things that bring you less or almost no results. When should you say “no”? Think about how that particular outing or task will help you achieve your primary goals.

Talk to yourself differently. Productive people talk to themselves very differently than others. They challenge their thoughts and develop strategic ways to get stuff done. Instead of saying “Oh, I have so much work to do. How will I get it all done?” Change your mindset by telling yourself “I need to do x,y,z. What can I do in the next 10 minutes? The rest I’ll plan for the following x day.” The trick here is to talk to yourself and analyze your current situation. Find out what is causing your stress and find ways to change so that you can manage your situation better.

Most people give up without ever knowing that they really can achieve their goals, by simplifying their day-to-day tasks to meet their daily objectives and transform their lives!
